As you may have guessed, Obama is not her real last name.  It is a name she gave herself shortly after another child named Lucy moved into Flying Kites. Lucy was quite horrified that there was another little girl with the same name as her, and announced one day that everybody should refer to her as “Lucy Obama” because one day she would be president.

Who is your hero and why? Nelson Mandela.  That man, he was a president for South Africa and many people, they say he was brave.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be president of Kenya, to make this a good place for people to live.
If you had a super power, what would it be? I would be in the movies.
What do you dream about? I mainly dream about being in class.
What accomplishment are you most proud of? I am most proud that I have been Leader of the Week.
What’s your favorite memory? When we all went to the waterpark! It was so much fun.
What do you like to do for fun? I love to go swimming at the waterpark!
If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be? I would go to the waterpark!

What’s your favorite animal, shape and color? I like small cats. I like pink and green and I don’t have a favorite shape.  Maybe a rectangle.
